Beginner glassblowing classes and studio rental

Currently six students are joining Todd once a week to experience an introduction to the process of glassblowing. Each section has three students to allow for maximum hands-on time. There was such a great response to these classes and Todd is enjoying them so much, that he'll be offering another introduction "class" in June Give us a call today to be sure that you get a spot. Another session will be offered in November.

"Experience the art of working with molten glass. Students will have the opportunity to learn basic techniques of glassblowing while working in a local glassblowing studio or "hot shop". Each student will create at least 2 original pieces of hand-blown glass. Both clear and colored glass will be used. Students should wear comfortable clothing (including footwear like running shoes) and non-polarized sunglasses." Four three-hour sessions, for a total of 12-hours of class time = $100 tuition + $50 materials fee per person.

Todd will do private "weekend sessions" as well. Three students at one time is ideal. 12-hours total is recommended, but one session that lasts for 6 hours would be very physically demanding (especially in the summer heat), so please consider that while thinking about how you would like to experience this unique and exciting art form.

Classes are for Beginners only -if you are an experienced glassblower and will be in the Ely area, please contact us about studio rental (~ $20 / hour) - there will be a lot of furnace time available this summer - , glass used, and on-site equipment: 218-235-8193 or highstone@frontiernet.net ------- Thanks!

Tuesday Night Live demos in Ely, MN ~ summer 2010

Tuesday nights in Ely are the time to be out and about downtown. Enjoy live music, restaurants, friends & neighbors, and LIVE art. Every year, this weekly celebration of small town America gets better - please join in this summer. Unfortunately Todd will not be doing any performances this summer due to other commitments but please check out the schedule of events at www.ely.org

Whenever Todd is blowing glass, though, he's happy to be demonstrating the very physical art of glassblowing, in his "hot shop" studio on Conan St. in Ely. He is a teacher by trade, so you and your family will likely enjoy his engaging nature as he creates HOT art right before your very eyes.

The "hot shop" studio is located at 138 W. Conan St., in the new blue garage behind the house (parking in the alley, on Conan St., or on 2nd Av. is fine). HSGW glassware (including the popular "oops" art box)will also be for sale anytime Todd is in the shop. Feel free to call 218-235-8193 to check on his plan for the day.
